It is similar to the omega-3 fatty acids that are in fish oil [eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)]. Alpha-linolenic acid can be converted into EPA and DHA in the body. Alpha-linolenic acid is highly concentrated in the Sacha Inchi ( also known as the incas peanut)

Sacha Inchi Oil it is also known as the Inca peanut and grows in the Peruvian Rain Forest . The seeds, from which the oils are extracted, grow inside the fruit capsules and are said to contain from 49% to 54% in oils. These seeds are about 35% skin/peal, and 65% peanut.

Sacha Inchi oil contains both Omega 6, 9 and Omega 3s. The Omega 6 and 9 we get in excess in our diets anyway, so it is the Omega 3 that is important. There isn’t a specific value for the Omega 3 content available from any available data. The Omega 3 content is high as compared to any other herb of vegetable origin oils, with an average of 48% Omega 3 content.
However, this is a little misleading when you consider that flaxseed and flaxseed oil is documented as having around 56-58% Omega 3.
